Danny Hanemann, long-time Playmakers lover, passed away on August 6th of this year. His memory will be honored and his life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 27th from 1-4pm at Playmakers Theatre.
Danny was a powerfully moving actor with a fervent passion for the stage and a deep love for Playmakers theatre. Under the direction of Frank Levy, he played a stunning Stanley Kowalski in the Playmakers rendition of a Streetcar Named Desire. He built sets, hung lights, did construction on the theatre and trod the boards in countless Playmakers productions including Kismet, I Ought to Be In Pictures, the Gin Game, Oliver Twist and many others. His wife, Marcelle Hanemann, and his daughter, Brook Hanemann, would like to extend a warm invitation to anyone wishing to join in the loving final send-off scheduled on 10/27.
We will gather at 1pm for a casual period of visiting after which we will take to the stage to share stories and words of love. Brook will put together a lineup of anyone wishing to speak. If you’d like to contribute, please email her at email@example.com.
We would also like to extend deep and heartfelt gratitude to the board of directors for so graciously allowing this celebration to happen in such a wonderfully fitting space.
